We thought we’d take a moment to formally introduce ourselves and welcome you in to the Camp Way world. We’re excited you are here!

CampWay was founded in 2020 as a way to allow groups both large and small to spend time together outdoors while enjoying the relaxing feel of time spent at camp. Our founders, Matt and Jonathan, have been in the camp world for the better part of the past decade and are excited to share their experience with their guests to help make awesome memories with your groups. A brief introduction of both Matt and Jonathan:

Matt is a lifelong camp person having spent most of his life's' summers at different camps across the country. A Prescott College alum, Matt enjoys guiding people through their experiences at camp and helping them realize the small lessons camp life provides.

Jonathan has a long history working with Friendly Pines Camp, overseeing all their rental-season groups and experiences. An Arizona native, Jonathan helps all CampWay guests leverage their time at camp successfully.

Tips for Planning a Retreat

It’s no secret that planning a retreat can be a big task for those in charge! Luckily our staff have been around the block a time or two and are here to help you throughout your planning journey. Like we learn at camp, it’s important to help each other out and teach other’s the things you’re good at. You’re in good hands.

Here are a few tips that will get you started when planning a retreat:

1. Plan ahead: Camp tends to fill up early and booking groups a year in advance is not unusual for us. Even if your retreat is still just an idea, go ahead and give us a call so we can start the process of finding dates that will work for you. We love talking to prospective retreat planners about how their experience will look at camp so don’t be shy. Let’s get this thing rolling!

2. Location: Host your retreat at a place where nobody feels like they have to host, let us take care of the hosting for you. Additionally, being in a location away from the office or home can give a much needed change of environment. Our property is spacious and surrounded by natural beauty with all of the accommodations your group needs.

3. Activities: Whether physical activities are integrated into your retreat plans or if they are available for participants to do in their free time, getting people connected to their bodies and out of their heads is important for any retreat. We offer both guided activities and can recommend independent creative experiences.

4. Schedule: Having a well thought out and balanced schedule for your retreat will make things run very smoothly.  We can help you create a schedule of events and activities that will keep your group engaged and help you accomplish your goals. We offer guided recreational activities, team building, and more!’

5. Food: If you are hosting a retreat for even a half-day, we recommend including a meal for your participants. We have a fully equipped kitchen and dining hall where you and your participants can enjoy delicious meals! We can accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions.
